Spring Pink and Gray | Fashion

Did you all get a taste of spring last week? We certainly did. I thoroughly enjoyed the several days of beautiful, 60-degree weather. My siblings and I took full advantage of the warmth and enjoyed walks and outside playtime. Some of us even pulled out short sleeves.

This gray knit shirt is one of my new favorites. It’s super comfortable and the three-quarter sleeve is just perfect for the almost-warm weather.

I love how the pink scarf adds some color to the outfit while the denim skirt keeps it casual.

Bethany and I were wearing coordinating stripes and colors so we had to get a picture together.

Today I’m featuring one of my favorite outfits. I love the soft colors of blue and gray together so it’s no surprise that I love this outfit. {smile}

Thanks to all of you who have taken a moment to fill out my survey. I appreciate hearing from you–it’s a great encouragement. If you haven’t had a chance to do it yet, you can take it here.

photo 7 Introducing one of my favorite outfits ever! Earlier this spring, while shopping for a new Easter/summer outfit, I found an adorable maxi dress that fit me perfectly. It needed some altering on the neckline but I figured I could make it work. To make a long story short, I got home, started looking through my closet but couldn’t make the dress look modest without it looking obviously “fixed”. I remembered some fabric I had in my closet that my mom had found at Goodwill. I pulled it out and copied/drafted a dress with a more modest top. The other dress I returned and have been happy with how this dress has worked. [smile]

I’ve gotten numerous comments on this necklace. My mom found it at Charming Charlie. I love the way it matches the dress but I do not like the way it has tarnished so quickly.

I had trouble figuring out how to draft sleeves with knit fabric so left it sleeveless and wear it with this cardigan.

Denim and Gray Maxi | Fashion

We took a family day last week and headed to Mineral Point, Wisconsin. We thoroughly enjoyed touring Pendarvis. The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time together.

I’m loving this new maxi skirt from Cato Fashions! One of my favorite things about this outfit is that each item can be worn for  different outfits. I love buying clothes that can mixed and matched for a number of occasions.

 Enjoying time with Chloe.

This outfit is stylish and surprisingly cool. I was hesitant to wear the denim vest, thinking it would be too heavy, but I stayed comfortably cool all day long.

Simple, stylish, and fun is a perfect description for Anna’s outfit today.

Anna’s adorable outfit is composed of some great deals. Her skirt and t-shirt are from Goodwill and her top was free.

Blue and White Casual

I’m always on the hunt for modest casual clothes, especially tops. Because I know how to sew, skirts usually aren’t as much of a problem for me. I recently found several cute, modest, summer tops for my favorite price–free. Yay! 🙂

IMG_1853This simple blue top looks cute paired a denim skirt. I wear a t-shirt under many of my summer tops for extra modesty. The necklace adds a nice touch for running errands.

I found these fun sandals at a thrift store. They still had the tags on them.

Here is Anna’s outfit from our sister photo shoot a few weeks ago.

This bright pink top fits Anna’s personality perfectly.

She added a belt for definition.

A simple bangle was her wrist accessory.

I’m increasingly thankful for the friendship I have with my sisters. As they grow older, our friendships deepen.

Today, I am delighted to feature my sister Bethany. You got a peek into this outfit a few weeks ago but here are the full details.

This color looks really good on Bethany. It draws attention to her face.

She added this pretty bracelet and a ring as her accessories.

This picture aptly portrays Bethany’s exuberance. 🙂

My three sisters, looking all grown up.

Bethany recently had an exciting answer to prayer. She has been earnestly praying for braces for a few years. She applied to a foundation that helps kids get braces and was accepted last month. Praise the Lord!

Black and White Houndstooth

Last Friday, the ladies of my family took a shopping trip. It was great getting to spend time with some of my favorite people. We went to a number of local consignment stores searching for some modest clothing for this summer. We all found a least a couple of things. Yay!

I found this classy black and white houndstooth on sale at Stein Mart.

I added this lovely necklace of my mom’s for extra pop.

The weather was lovely here yesterday so we got several sister pictures. More coming later this week.
